Here’s My Story

How’s it going?

Max Shumpert here, the founder of BikesReviewed.com.

Over the last few years, I’ve taken my love of the outdoors, hiking, skiing, trekking and exploring to the next level by starting this site.

One of the biggest loves, besides being in nature and discovering new places, is being on the back of a bike. It doesn’t matter if it’s a mountain bike on the hillside or pushing myself harder through the ridges, or pushing myself even further on the road, biking is my passion.

While it may seem a little crazy to most, I currently spend between 12 to 18 hours a day on a bike, every chance I get. Most people will never log those types of hours in, but that won’t stop me from helping them fall in love with being on a bike.

From the cardio workout to keeping your mental game in check, biking opens up a new world that most people won’t understand until they try it for the first time.

For those of you that don’t know about me or haven’t heard my story yet, I’m a 28 year old based out of Denver, Colorado. That gives me plenty of terrain to explore with some of the best views in the world. Part of what keeps me going!

I’ve developed my love for bikes from a young age, and staying in shape has always been a big part of my life. However, after joining the Marine Corps, fitness became a real priority for me.

After leaving the Marines, I didn’t want to give up on anything I’d learned, so I took the hardcore motivation instilled in me and set out to combine my two loves -- business, and biking.

I started a bike shop in Denver, CO, and have seen amazing growth over the last few years. Getting paid to do what I love has been a dream come true for me.

That’s also what led me to starting BikesReviewed.com. In my shop, I spend a large amount of time helping people find the perfect bike for them and the style of biking they’re going to be doing.

It only made sense that I expanded my reach and got online, making it possible for me to help people all over the world.

If biking and staying fit is your priority, too, you’ve come to the right place.

When it comes to biking, I don’t think there’s a question that I haven’t already heard. I’ve tried to answer most of them on this site already.

However, if there’s a question you have that you haven’t already seen on my site, definitely reach out to me. I love hearing from my readers and will take every opportunity I can get to help someone else.

You’ll also want to make sure that you’ve subscribed so you get notified every time I publish something new, and get the latest news from the industry -- covering new bikes, advancements on old bikes, trails to ride, places to explore, and much more.
