MONTAGUE Bikes – OUR REVIEWS
Who is Montague?
Montague is a bike company based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. They are at the forefront of evolving bicycle technology, focusing on Folding Integrated Technology.
David Montague founded the Montague Corporation in 1987 while a graduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He immediately focused his designs on folding bicycles that offered space-saving convenience without sacrificing performance.
Since their first design, the “BiFrame,” the company has continued to produce innovative designs. Their bicycle designs have won many awards over the years, including Popular Mechanic’s “Design & Engineering Award.”
The company partnered with BMW to produce the official mountain bike of the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta. The following year, Montague worked with the United States Marines to develop the Tactical Electric No Signature Mountain bike.
Over the years, the company has also partnered with companies like Hummer. Their products have been featured in catalogs like Neiman Marcus, Sharper Image, Hammacher Schlemmer and National Geographic.
While most folding bike companies start with the folded package, Montague focuses on bike performance. The folding features are considered secondary. They use full-size wheels, a feature typically not seen on folding bikes.
Montague offers a lifetime warranty for bike frames, excluding forks. They offer a one-year warranty on paint, decals, and other original parts minus suspension forks.
